HootSuit
HootSuit is a social media management system that is used by businesses to manage traffic to their social media accounts such as Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn etcYou can view streams from multiple networks and post updates or reply directly. With so many networks for businesses to manage, it’s no doubt Social Media Management tools have become so popular and relied upon by many companies today.Using twitter as a customer service is a great way for a small business to provide customer service and HootSuit is the best tool to help. Mobile networks or Utility companies love Hootsuite as it allows them to send customer messages to different team members and these can be managed overall by an administrator. Another useful feature is that Hootsuite allows you to store draft messages that you can post when you receive a frequently asked question for example open hours or directions to your business.HootSuit even give their own help and training through their own website for those who need some tips on monitoring their accounts.

Google Glass
When lying in bed the other night i was looking through YouTube and came across a video called ''How it Feels Through The Glass - Google Glass, I was curious so I clicked the video and what I watched just blew my mind. Basically Google are in the developing stages of their new device Google Glass which is a reality wearable computer with a head mounted display. I think Google are on to the idea that technology has now days allowed us to combine the use of computers and Internet without the use of our hands.
Imagine having a pair of glasses that has a smart phones LCD screen in one corner and can connect to the Internet through natural language voice commands and weights the same as an average pair of sunglasses pretty damn cool right?

Social Media
The past decade has seen social media increase, Facebook and twitter both have 1 billion users each day and business are using social media sites as a powerful marketing tool.
Social media as a marketing tool can help a struggling small business to become more successful.Businesses can follow individuals social networking site uses in the local area and advertise specials and deals, social media can be used to gather input and feedback directly from their target market, and use that feedback to improve their business and most important its free.
Advertising on social media sites like Facebook and YouTube is reasonably cheap, if small business pay to advertise on these sites they are targeting a bigger market.
Consumer Research shows that a consumer has to see an advertisement at least seven times before the message gets through to the buyer.
I would strongly suggest to any small business to use social media to gain a stronger position in the market in these though economic times.
